An annnoying iPad

Sitting in a train with nothing to do really makes the journey even longer. Thus, there is nothing wrong with keeping yourself entertained with MP3, smart phones etc. However, it seems that someone today preferred surround sound...

Why would anyone watch tv on iPad in the MRT and not use earphone? It's loud and annoying

Friday Oct 24 2013

It's Friday! Got in the train at 8.14am (CCK)

Second train got in, train is not moving waiting for more passengers to pack in. (JEast)

Old seats are no longer able to contain the majority bigger passengers. (GMoh)

A case of people getting more affluent hence obesity?

45min ride, not too bad.

Turning mundaneness into adventure

The Singapore Mass Rapid Transport network is known for its efficiency and reliability but over recent years, they seem to suffer from breakdowns and overcrowding especially during peak hours. The cause of this is believed to be the increased population and infrastructure in Singapore be it trains, buses, roads, hospitals, housing for these have not kept up. Which makes it pretty stressful and frustrating taking the SMRT to work. And this is not unique to just Singapore, but many other big cities as well.

I am quite entertained reading the daily live Facebook reports of a certain person who expresses her experience of going to work. Like most Singaporeans who depend on the SMRT for their commute, each trip by itself seems like an adventure - hhow many trains before she can board, the people whom she encounters each day which can fit neatly into the categories of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Or will it be a jackpot day where a break down occurs?

The blog title SMRT - Squeeze Me Really Right, sums up her daily encounters and I hope you enjoy 3 mins of live entertainment. Who says living in Singapore is mundane?
